Kdor ima slabo srce, morda ni ostal živ po trilerju, ki se je zgodil na zadnji tekmi PWA pokala na Japonskem v Yokusuki!
Lina je bila ves čas pri vrhu in praktično NIČ točk (da 0.0!) jo je ločilo od zmage na tekmi v Yokosuki ter prvega mesta na PWA – skupno!
Prva favoritinja pred in med tekmo, 23-letna Francozinja Justine Lemeteyer, je v 4. eliminaciji mislila, da je prehitro štartala in bila diskvalificirana in zato zamudila na ponoven štart. Po tem je v 5. eliminaciji nepričakovano padla in posledično prepustila popolnoma odprt boj, tako za skupno zmago, kot zmago na tekmi 2. in 3. tekmovalki, naši Lini Eržen (20 let) in Blanci Alabau (29 let)!
Že to je pomenilo pravo dramo, potem pa se je samo še stopnjevalo.
Lina in Blanca sta se seveda uvrstili v finalni plov. Tukaj je povzetek NEVERJETNIH zadnjih minut finalnega plova, ki je odločal praktično o vsem!:
13:38 Women’s Winners’ Final 5 sailing again now – Good start this time around. It all comes down to this. Lemeteyer fans get behind your sofas. Eržen fans cross your fingers and pray… Alabau and Erżen at the front of the pack early on. round the first it’s Alabau, Eržen coming to challenge for the lead. Eržen can just settle for second, but these two girls aren’t settling for anything.
13:39 Flat out into the second – they are almost touching each other. Erzen narrowly ahead with Alabau in second – has a moment in the gybe – disaster for Lemeteyer and her fans – this is going to be a horrific blow – losing the world title in the cruelest of circumstances.
13:40 Eržen and Alabau safely round the third… two reaches and one gybe to go… Eržen almost loses it with her back foot getting ripped out of the strap.
13:41 Eržen barely survives again and moments later she’s totally lost it in a massive crash… can she can up and recover in time?
13:42 Alabau will cruise to the win in the last elimination. Eržen is back up and riding in second place, but Davico is on her tail, surely she can’t over take Eržen?
13:50 Oh bloody hell… this is unbelievable… Blanca Alabau wins the event after the winning the last elimination. That means that’s Lina Eržen finishes second and with Justine Lemeteyer in third that mean’s that Justine Lemeteyer has somehow survived a last day meltdown to still become world champion. A truly crazy day of sport that no one could’ve scripted. Alabau and Lemeteyer finish level on points at the end of the season, but Lemeteyer wins it on countback having recorded more first and seconds over the course of the season.”

Po seštevku točk in pravil v primeru izenačenosti (več boljših uvrstitev) je Lina potegnila najkrajšo in osvojila še vedno fenomenalno drugo mesto ter 3. v skupnem seštevku PWA!
